Mayor Scott Conger Launches Digital News Updates to Promote Transparency in City Government
Posted on 10/15/2020

Starting this fall, the City of Jackson will send out news via email to those that sign up to receive digital updates.

“The goal of Mayor Conger’s administration has always been to promote transparency, efficiency and inclusion in city government,” said City Manager Alex Reed. “The digital newsletter is one of many ways that we are accomplishing this. The primary source of news for many of our constituents is online and it makes sense to us to reach people where they are. We will continue to send out project updates and press releases through traditional mediums and hope that these changes will bring more people to the table while piquing an interest in local government.”

Digital updates will cover a variety of topics including but not limited to budgeting, parks and recreation programs, bulky waste schedules, the public art initiative, 311 data, the anti-poverty task force, city council meetings, the commission on aging, adoptable animals from the animal care center, board opportunities, events, etc.
